The incineration process of solid waste typically consists of two phases (i) primary combustion and self-ignition of waste product (ii) secondary combustion of primary combustion waste gases. Residence time and temperatures are key parameters to ensure safe limit of emissions produced.

Therefore, you find many businesses manufacturing bespoke pieces of equipment to deal with very specific waste disposal. One of our clients, Addfield Environmental Systems, is a leading manufacturer of solid waste incinerator equipment across multiple sectors.

The Waste Incineration Directive (WID) has released several directives since 2000 which aims to legislate incineration of hazardous waste. These laws aim to reduce pollution and hazardous emissions to both the air and ground. EnerTherm Engineering have been working closely with the leader in producing bespoke incineration equipment Addfield Environmental Systems ltd to help to optimise their design to ensure their equipment emissions is within the WI directives.

EnerTherm Engineering has a wealth of experience in designing machinery in the process industry. We have designed, process heaters, ovens, dryers, de-hydrators, heat exchangers, condensers and incinerators. We design from first principles and generate bespoke calculations utilising our knowledge from chemical, thermal, mechanical and electrical engineering. We project manage new design from concept to manufacturing and follow them through installation and commissioning. Our strength reside in the new development of bespoke machinery where there is a certain aspect of research and development.

Our design process follows a structured approach where each steps is signed off by our clients. From writing a functional design specification, reporting on calculation utilising our extensive CAE tools, testing and prototyping in the Allia Future Business Centre state of art lab, running HAZOP and FMEA studies, manufacturing and FAT through our wide partners network, installing and final sign off.
