Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about flue gas condensation, water recovery, and our EcoRec condenser range.
The EcoRec direct contact condenser captures water vapour from flue gases by cooling exhaust streams below their dew point. The water spray and tray/packing system maximises heat transfer surface area, enabling efficient condensation. The recovered water is then collected via an advanced self-draining weir system for reuse in industrial processes.
Industries with significant flue gas or exhaust steam output benefit the most, including food processing (fryer and oven stacks), paper & pulp drying, sugar refining, textile drying, chemical manufacturing, and pharmaceutical production. Any process where water recovery and heat recapture can reduce operational costs is a strong candidate.
All EcoRec models operate within a temperature range of 70°C to 250°C. The system is designed with high-grade stainless steel tubes and carbon steel shells with optional corrosion-resistant coatings to withstand demanding thermal conditions reliably.
The EcoRec series significantly reduces energy losses by recovering heat from flue gases that would otherwise be wasted. Integrated smart control systems with real-time monitoring automatically adjust extraction fan speed using VSD control with pressure differential sensors, maximising efficiency without disrupting downstream processes.
The modular design allows easy access for maintenance. An optional CIP (Clean-in-Place) system is available for automated cleaning. The advanced self-draining condensate management system with weir design prevents blockages, minimising downtime. All models are constructed from corrosion-resistant materials for long service life.
Yes, the EcoRec series features a modular design specifically engineered for easy installation and integration into existing fryer stacks, oven stacks, and dryer stacks. The compact vertical footprint means they can fit into facilities with limited space, and the system can be expanded as production demands grow.
