Factory Data Capture Case Study

Factory data is at the essence of process and production knowledge. Without quality data, production facilities struggle to commission products in time and often find it difficult to get reproducibility, which is key for volume manufacturing.

One of our customers continuously produces leather sheets for the automotive and aeronautic industries. The process is fairly simple but requires several adjustments to machines to cope with different product types and protective coatings. All process and machine data had been stored in a spreadsheet which caused issues with tracking changes and resulted in a significant loss of data…

EnerTherm Engineering has built a bespoke web application utilising C# .NET Core, Angular 2 and Web API for this customer. This app can be used from a tablet or a PC and be utilised to capture essential plant data.
The form and flow of the app are very intuitive and very little training was required to get the customer up to speed. The data collected can now be used to generate custom reports for each order received and machine settings comparisons can be made easily.

Several hundreds of hours have already been saved by using the app.  Data captured has been stored in the customer’s local data server on SQL Database Server which is also regularly backed up.
